An open letter to 'social media agencies'

AppId is over the quota

If a company is bother potential clients with the above described tactics, than I doubt they are experts.

Moreover if they indicate they are experts, they are mostly not!

Your audience makes you a star!

When others, business partners and clients say you are an expert, than you maybe are one. happy

They try to sell a strategy to a customer which they don?t follow by them self.

Yes, today everybody who is able to create a Twitter account thinks is a social media expert.

Some important question a business should ask to sort out the self-appointed social media experts:

- Can you show me your social media activities?
- Do you have a blog?
- Do you have videos on Youtube?
- How was the first contact made, through your own research online the inbound way or through cold call ? old school outbound marketing through the SMM agency?

I wrote an article how to choose the right agency here: http://inblurbs.com/blog/9-questions-to-ask-when-hiring-an-online-marketing-partner/

I like to mention that SMM is only one part of the strategies to attract leads and business.

To have value of SMM activities a business should construct their internet marketing with a more holistic strategy framework.

Inbound marketing covers this holistic approach the best way!

Inbound marketing is the marketing strategy that focuses on getting found by customers when they are researching online for products or services your company also has to offer.

With inbound marketing businesses earn their way to the customer, by publishing helpful information on a blog, in social media and forums.

Inbound marketing includes: Blogging, Social Media, Lead Conversion, Lead Nurturing and Closed-Loop Analysis.
